Blood Bowl Humans

Ok, here goes - my first painting blog. As will be written somewhere on this page soon, I'm most certainly not a professional. The reason for doing this blog is only to motivate myself to get some painting done and to hopefully receive some useful feedback. (Hint, hint!)

I’ve decided to start this blog with my second latest Blood Bowl project – a 2nd ed. Human team with colour scheme based on the good old Bad Bay Hackers from the formidable BB books by Matt Forbeck.

As my concentration span is like that of a 7 year old, I’ve of course already put the humans back on their shelf and started a new project (that I’ll hopefully finish…). To my defense, though, it should be said that I’m not planning on playing human anytime soon, so that’s also one of the reasons for putting this project aside.

Enough said! Here they are – my two and a half men team. The blocker is finished (apart from the shoelaces and base). He’s been coated with a glossy varnish for protection and will receive a layer of matt varnish to remove the shininess. Griegor Miessen (the star player) is very close to finished. No varnish there. The catcher – well… He’s just there to show a start-up picture…

Over and out for now...

  1. Looking great. Are you painting with an aim in mind? Local league? Tournaments?

Particular congratulations with the yellow - very smooth and bright.

  2. Ever since I first read the BB books by Forbeck, I’ve wanted to paint a human team in these colours. That’s the only aim. I’m playing in some local leagues but I’m playing (or planning to play) human anytime soon, so as I wrote – that’s one of the reasons why they’ve been put back on the shelf.

I’ve just started working on some orcs and I’ll post as soon as one of them starts to be ready.

Thanks for the kind words! :)
